Evacuation

If the fire alarm sounds or you are otherwise notified to evacuate the building, exit via the stairwells. Exit at Floor 1 and rendezvous with your employees. Ensure all employees and visitors are accounted for. 

Everyone should be familiar with evacuation routes, pull stations, and fire extinguisher locations. These items are identified on the various signs located throughout the building.  

In the event the building must be evacuated, please remember the following:  

  • The building alarm system is monitored 24 hours a day. If you have not received prior notification of a test, you should promptly evacuate the building anytime you hear the fire alarm. Remember to keep corridors clear of obstructions.  

  • All individuals should calmy leave the building at the nearest exit. Do not use the elevators. Only use stairways to exit the building. Be alert for smoke, especially if evacuating for a fire that is on your level or below you. After exiting the building, proceed to the designated relocation area in the parking lot.  

  • Each suite should identify individuals who are responsible to represent his/her suite in case of building evacuation. The persons are responsible for making a head count, accounting for everyone in the tenant suite.  

  • If persons for your area are known to be in the vicinity of the fire and remain unaccounted for or are unable to be move, alert emergency personnel immediately.  

  • Be prepared to offer assistance, but never put yourself in danger.  

  • The building manager or emergency personnel will notify you when it is safe to return to the building.
